Connector permissions
Limit connected applications' access and check actions with consequences.
On this page
The selected Spaces and your role determine what a connected application can do in TEISENDA. A Space is a shared workspace in the app.
Choose the connection's Spaces
When connecting, choose Spaces under The connection applies to these Spaces. Later, change them under Manage connections.
- You need at least one Space or Also for Spaces I join later.
- You can select confirmed Spaces where you are a member and which are not scheduled for deletion.
- If you leave a Space, the connection loses access to it. When you rejoin, access may return without new consent; see the conditions below.
What does the option for future Spaces mean?
With Also for Spaces I join later, future memberships are added to the connection. If you change the selection, “future” starts at that moment; a Space you deselect stays excluded.
What happens if I rejoin a Space?
The Space may become part of the connection again without new consent if it remains in the saved selection or Also for Spaces I join later applies.
If you saved the Space selection again while you were outside the Space and this option is off, the Space does not return automatically. Check and change your connection’s selection.
Each call names a Space
Hosting tools require the ten-digit Space ID in space. The Connector's instructions tell the application to take it from whoami or from you and to ask if several Spaces could apply.
The result names the Space. Check it: the instructions tell the application to stop if it chose the wrong one.
TEISENDA checks every tool call
Before execution, the app checks the account, connection, Space, membership, locks and your role. The tools apply the app's permissions and plan limits.
A saved change has the same effect as a change in TEISENDA. Rejections are explained under Troubleshooting.
Your role determines which tools you can use
- Owner, Administrator and User can call all hosting tools.
- Read-only can call
hosting_list_projects,hosting_project_status,hosting_list_deploys,hosting_get_visibilityandhosting_list_redirects. whoamiand managing your own connections do not require a particular Space role.
Why can I see tools I cannot call?
The tool list does not depend on your role. Even tools that only read files require at least User; without the permission, the app responds with Your role in this Space doesn't allow that..
Check a tool's annotations
The tool reference shows whether each tool reads, deletes or changes what visitors see.
What do the technical annotations mean?
readOnlyHint: reads without changing anything.destructiveHint: deletes, overwrites or changes what visitors see.idempotentHint: recognises an identical subsequent call without making further changes.openWorldHint: affects visitors, DNS or certificates.
A change can take effect without a question
Warning
Except for the three cases below, tools act on the first call. The application decides whether to ask for your agreement first.
hosting_deploy_status also reads the state and may permanently remove older versions in the process. hosting_create_upload returns an address where uploading an archive replaces the entire draft.
Three tools require a confirmation sentence
On the first call without confirm, nothing changes. Check the project, Space and consequence; only a second call with the returned sentence performs the action.
| Tool | Confirmation needed |
|---|---|
hosting_delete_project | always |
hosting_remove_domain | always |
hosting_set_visibility | when switching from private to public |
No hosting tool works in a locked Space
whoami still shows locked Spaces. Remove each lock as follows:
- Unconfirmed Space: open the confirmation link in the email.
- Scheduled for deletion: the person who deleted it restores the Space.
- Locked by TEISENDA: contact support.
End a connection in TEISENDA
Warning
Ending a connection cannot be undone. To use the application again, connect it again.
End the connection under Manage connections. It can also end if the application revokes its authentication or the authentication expires.
Is removing the Connector from the application enough?
With ChatGPT, the TEISENDA connection may end; with Claude, it may remain. Check it in TEISENDA and end it there if needed.
Connect again if authentication has expired
After 60 days without use, TEISENDA marks the connection as unused. The application can renew its authentication for up to 60 days after the last renewal. If it has expired, connect the application again.
Locks can interrupt access
An account scheduled for deletion can no longer work through the Connector. A locked Space stays in the connection, but its tools do not work.
