What happens when a subscription ends

Projects, versions and domains initially remain after the subscription ends. Whether your websites stay online depends on usage and why the subscription ended.

Warning

If hosting remains paused, TEISENDA permanently deletes all the Space’s websites no earlier than 30 days after hosting was paused. Projects, versions, backups, domains and redirects are lost permanently. The Space itself remains.

Before deletion, purchase Max again or reduce usage to the Free limits and switch the Space to Free. Reducing usage alone does not prevent deletion.

  1. Switch the Space to Free or purchase again

Open The websites in this Space are offline on Billing or a hosting page. As Owner or Administrator, click Switch to Free once usage fits within Free, or purchase Max again.

The Space is now on the Free plan. The websites are back online. confirms the switch. Your websites respond again; websites you took offline yourself remain offline.

Good to know

  • After cancellation, the Space stays online if usage fits within Free: 1 project, 1 custom domain and 100 MB storage. Packages do not count.
  • If usage does not fit, TEISENDA pauses the websites; it always does so if the subscription ends because payments were missed. Cleaning up alone does not end the pause: you must switch or purchase again.
  • With a new purchase, returning from payment brings the websites back in the same step; if the hosting node does not respond, the sync running every five minutes restores them.
  • Before deletion, you receive two emails at the billing address. See Website deletion after a subscription ends for the notice periods.

If something goes wrong

The Space is now on the Free plan. The websites will be back online in a few minutes.

The hosting node has not responded to the switch yet. Websites return within a few minutes. If the app cannot immediately reach the node when pausing or restoring websites, the change takes up to five minutes.

Too much is still in use for Free:

Usage does not fit within Free; the button is disabled and the notice lists what exceeds the limits. Delete projects, domains, versions or backups until usage fits, then switch. Or purchase again.

Only Owners and Administrators of this Space can book again or switch to Free.

You have User or Read-only. A member with Owner or Administrator must purchase again or switch to Free.

That didn't work. Please try again.

TEISENDA rejected the switch, or it failed. Try again.

More questions about subscription endings

Which emails do I receive when the subscription ends?

TEISENDA sends them to the invoice email address in billing details, using the stored invoice language. Without billing details, none is sent. At most 7 days after a cancelled subscription ends, “… has ended” arrives and states whether the Space is on Free or offline. If it ended due to non-payment, “… has ended, your websites are going offline” arrives.
