Delete and restore your account

Deleting your account blocks it. You can restore it within 30 days using the link in the email.

On this page

Warning

After the deadline, TEISENDA permanently deletes the account. You cannot restore a permanently deleted account.

The restoration link is only in the email you receive when deleting the account. The app cannot resend it.

While the account is scheduled for deletion, you cannot sign in with a password or through Google or Microsoft.

Note

Your account has a password. If it signs in only through Google or Microsoft, set one first.

Leave all Spaces first. If you are a Space's only owner, delete it and wait for permanent deletion; Spaces scheduled for deletion still count as memberships. A Space is a shared workspace in the app.

Delete your account

  1. Open the deletion section

In your personal settings, open Security and Danger zone.

  2. Enter your email address

Click Delete account and enter your account's email address under Type your email address to confirm in the dialog.

  3. Confirm deletion

Click Delete account. If your sign-in or last identity verification is older than 10 minutes, verify your identity first; deletion is then performed.

Your account is blocked, all sessions have ended and your Connector connections no longer work. Your account will be deleted contains the deadline and restoration link.

Good to know

  • After 30 days, TEISENDA permanently deletes the account with the next deletion run; it runs once a day by default.
  • TEISENDA then emails the account's former address with the subject Your account has been deleted; the email contains no link. The address is then available for a new registration.

If something goes wrong

You’re still a member of a Space. Leave all Spaces first.

Your account still belongs to a Space, possibly one scheduled for deletion but not permanently deleted yet. Leave all Spaces first. For a Space scheduled for deletion, wait until it is permanently deleted, or restore it.

The confirmation email could not be sent. Please try again.

The restoration email could not be sent. TEISENDA has scheduled nothing for deletion, and you remain signed in. Try again.

More questions about deletion

The delete button is absent
  • The account has no password: the section shows Set up a password first (section above) to be able to delete your account. Set a password.
  • You still belong to a Space: To my Spaces takes you to your list of Spaces.
  • Your only remaining membership is in a Space scheduled for deletion: the section shows A Space of yours is being deleted. Once its deletion deadline passes, you can delete your account — or restore the Space via the link in the email.
I see a page saying my account is scheduled for deletion

If a session still exists, its next page requiring sign-in takes you to /account-recovery. Without the email link, this page only says the account is scheduled for deletion and refers to the email: To keep your account, open the recovery link from the email we sent you. Once the deadline passes, the account is permanently deleted.

Restore your account before permanent deletion

Restoring your account undoes deletion.

Warning

You need the link in the email sent when deletion was scheduled. Nothing else in the app cancels the scheduled deletion. If you no longer have the email, contact support.

Note

The account is not permanently deleted, and you have the unused link from the email.

  1. Open the link in the email

Account scheduled for deletion opens. Opening it alone does not restore the account.

  2. Confirm restoration

Click Restore account. TEISENDA cancels the scheduled deletion, and the page shows Account restored and Your account is active again. Please sign in as usual.

  3. Sign in

Click To sign in. Restoring the account does not sign you in.

Your account is active again; its address, password and sign-in methods remain. Sign in again and create a Space if needed: the account no longer has any memberships.

Good to know

  • The link works once and has no separate expiry date: it works until the account is permanently deleted.

If something goes wrong

This recovery link is invalid or no longer valid.

The link is unknown or already used, or the account is no longer scheduled for deletion because it was restored or permanently deleted; the page does not say which case applies. If the account is already restored, sign in as usual. You cannot restore a permanently deleted account; its address is available for a new registration.
